Treating chronic fatigue syndrome and long-haul COVID-19

Updated: Aug 12, 2024

Long-haul COVID-19 and/or chronic fatigue syndrome can be treated with losartan. Checking this out would not be difficult at all. `Losartan is a medication that has been extensively prescribed to treat high blood pressures. Losartan upregulates ACE2 receptors.

50 mg of losartan is taken twice daily in mornings and evenings where dinners are eaten. A goal is to keep losartan in gastrointestinal tracts during days where dinners are eaten.

Blood pressures have to be checked regularly for example each day. Low blood pressures are to be avoided.

Losartan could result in difficulties for fetuses during 2nd and 3rd trimesters. Females taking losartan who become pregnant who are on losartan should consult MDs as soon as feasible.

ACE2 receptors are entry points for COVID-19. Losartan should not be taken unless individuals have had at least 2 vaccinations for COVID-19.

COVID-19 downregulates ACE2. ACE2 is required for cell surface expression of SLC6A19 and SLC6A20. SLC6A19 is an amino acid transporter that transports neutral amino acids. Here is a page that provides some info on neutral amino acids. SLC6A20 is an amino acid transporter than transports L-proline.

Human corona virus NL63 also can downregulate ACE2. Both COVID-19 and human corona virus could result in amino acid deficiencies. By upregulating ACE2 with losartan amino acid deficiencies that lead to chronic fatigue syndrome and long haul COVID-19 could be treated.

Human coronavirus NL63 has been present in human populations for around 1000 years. Human corona virus NL63 in human population predates COVID-19 so chronic fatigue syndrome predates long-hauls COVID-19, however, chronic fatigue syndrome and long-haul COVID-19 are basically the same illness. Differential diagnosis of chronic fatigue syndrome and long-haul COVID-19 from other illnesses such as depressions is done by asking whether there is brain fog and fatigue. Individuals who are depressed could, however, have long-haul COVID19/chronic fatigue syndrome.

Individuals treated for chronic fatigue syndrome/long haul COVID-19 could still have depressions, seasonal affective disorder and/or difficulties with dietary antioxidants. To treat depressions see this post. To treat seasonal affective disorder see this post. To re-regulate systematic oxidant defenses and address high levels of antioxidants in diets see this post.
