Avoidance of dietary antioxidants and supplementation with synthetic lycopene is nootropic

Updated: Feb 25

Supplementation with antioxidants has been tried and tried and tried for the last 50 years where results are unequivocal. Increasing dietary antioxidants except around RDA dosages of antioxidant vitamins is of no help whatsoever in prevention and/or treatment of illnesses.

A appropriate ketogenic diet where there are a range of fatty acids and limited amounts of dietary dietary antioxidants is of assistances. See this post.

Spices, tea, coffee, natural flavors and/or carbonated drinks should not ever be eaten and/or drunk Very frequently now alcoholic drinks are carbonated and/or contain natural flavors. Water is only drink that is safe to drink.

100 mg caffeine pills marketed by Bulksupplements could be taken where acetylcholine levels and dopamine level are increased and where a treatment for seasonal affective disorder is adhered to. See this post. Also see this post.

Lycopene

Lycopene is very frequently mischaracterized as an antioxidant. Lycopene quenches singlet oxygen producing o2. Lycopene is the most efficient carotenoid at quenching singlet oxygen.

Absorption of lycopene is low. Low absorption of lycopene is an advantage. A goal is to increase reactive oxygen species only in gastrointestinal tracts and not systematically.

Carotenoids available now other than lycopene are ineffective as supplements. Such carotenoids are better absorbed than lycopene.

Lycopene is only effective where diets are low in dietary antioxidants. Lycopene works better where acetylcholine levels are increased.

Plant extracts of lycopene should not ever be supplemented. Lycopene should not ever be taken at same times as mineral bisglycinates are supplemented.

20 mg of synthetic lycopene marketed by Bulksupplements is supplemented four times a day on basically empty stomachs. Taking daily amounts of lycopene greater than 80 mg and/or taking dosages greater than 20 mg is not of assistances as more lycopene is absorbed systematically, Taking a wrong formulation of lycopene is worse than taking no lycopene at all.

A 20 mg dosage of synthetic lycopene is supplemented at bedtimes to ameliorate doldrums in mornings. A dosage of lycopene takes full effect in about 6 hours. Effects of supplementing lycopene are most noticeable in later half of days particularly in late evenings.
