Organic acids, for example, ascorbic acid, phosphoric acid, citric acid and tartaric acid are antioxidants. Foods and/or drinks for example sodas with organic acids added should not be ever be eaten and/or drunk. Supplements where nutrients are bound to organic acids should not ever be taken.
Where a proton is removed from an acid a conjugate base forms. Bitartrate is a conjugated base of tartaric acid. Choline bitartrate can be supplemented.
